Type O Negative- Bloody Kisses
This album was introduced to me at the very beginning of my emo phase, I started blaring Black No. 1 on my crappy old Sony headphones almost daily. I ventured into the rest of the album, regardless of its satirical first track “Machine Screw” almost leading me out of it. This album overall has a mysterious yet darkly romantic sound, especially with tracks like “Christian Woman” and “Black No. 1.” Its harder tracks “We Hate Everyone” and “Blood and Fire” both are great choices to get your inner rocker out. And the calmer tracks “Set Me on Fire” and “Summer Breeze” are great songs to just chill to, while also still being dark with Peter Steele’s signature deep voice. Admittedly, when I bought the album at record store day a few years ago, I bought the digipack rerelease that took out all the satirical tracks and sound tracks including: “We Hate Everyone”, “Machine Screw”, “Kill All The White People”, “Fay Wray Come Out and Play”, Dark Side of The Womb”, and also ditched the spoken introduction to “Christian Woman” which is a real shame because I liked the spoken intro. However, the reiusse tried to remedy this by including a bonus track called "Suspended in Dusk" which isn't a bad track by any means, but definately not as good as what was taken from the album, at least in my opinion.
